"Building Brighter Futures and Resilience in Children"
Welcome to Mini Minds!
Mini Minds is a learning opportunity designed and created solely for children in Early Years Settings. It is suitable for children aged 3 and older and those in their final year of Nursery School.
Mini Minds has been established, created and run by a Children's Therapist, with over 15 years experience working with children, including previous experience as an Early Years pre-school teacher. Mini Minds run interactive group workshops, using activities and games which promotes the importance of positive mental health from an early age, in a fun and informal way. Often young children find their emotions confusing and tricky to deal with, which can lead to challenging behaviours and tantrums. Mini Minds helps children to understand these feelings and learn how to express them appropriately.
Mini Minds motto is about having fun, whilst focusing on early intervention and prevention. Recently there has been a lot of research into the importance of mental health support in primary and secondary schools; however, the earlier children can access this support and learn to develop positive relationships, empathy and an understanding of their own emotions and self-control, the more this will build on their resilience and stand them in good stead for the future.
Mini Minds works in line with the E.Y.F.S Curriculum and the requirements of Personal, Social and Emotional Development. Children all receive a certificate of participation and settings receive a certified certificate of Early Years Mental Health Support.
